Director, Media Strategy

Haworth seeks a Director, Media Strategy to be a senior leader within the agency and across key clients. The Director will be responsible for ensuring all client deliverables meet quality standards and surpass client expectations, as well as managing agency resources against established agency KPIs. The Director will be positioned with both clients and agency partners as the business leader and expected to lead a team culture that inspires: curiosity; innovation; collaboration, and overall team development.


Media Strategy:

  • Be an expert in all client business and be a strong voice in developing communication strategies
  • Manage a team of media strategists; develop a collaborative group of brand and communication strategists
  • Inspire and empower development of media plans for all assigned clients to ensure advertising and marketing objectives are met using effective tactics that are driven by sound strategies and rationale
    • Oversee development of strategic framework of plans to ensure they are driving down the right path
    • Ensure quality and thoroughness surpasses client expectations
    • Collaborate with agency and client partners to develop holistic communications architecture with focus on accurately defined strategies and business KPIs
  • Identify potential strategic partnerships across agency clients, as well as other complimentary brands

Internal Communication:

  • Collaborate with Directors in other departments to ensure systems and procedures are efficient and effective
  • Collaborate with Directors across agency on recommendations to leadership on staffing needs and solutions
  • Manage personnel within teams by recruiting, hiring, motivating, empowering and retaining staff

Relationships & Service:

  • Primary contact with top executive team at client; responsible for key relationships to maintain confidence in the partnership
  • Anticipate and understand all client needs and ensure all client requests are addressed
  • Manage client agreements where applicable and ensure efficient staffing models to meet and exceed client needs, while also meeting agency KPIs
  • Leverage current and new clients to further diversify and grow Haworth business
  • Be a visible member of the media community representing Haworth and clients at industry functions

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution – degree in Marketing, Advertising preferred; MBA a bonus
  • 12+ years of experience within media strategy and planning
