Supervisor, Multicultural Media

Haworth seeks a Supervisor, Multicultural Media with research and media experience and proven ability to rethink our client’s business challenges, quantifying the business opportunity and humanizing research and data to get a true portrait of the multicultural consumer (Hispanic, African American, Asian American, LGBT, etc.), and unearth consumer insights that drive true business impact. The Haworth multicultural team is a specialized unit dedicated to providing Total Market by applying a multicultural lens through all the facets of communications, consulting and media planning while also planning and executing dedicated efforts.

The Supervisor, will contribute in all aspects of the multicultural process – while managing, developing, and delegating to the Planner. Ensures Haworth has best in class resources based on agency/client needs while educating, challenging and developing members within the Multicultural department.



  • Integral member of the growing multicultural team which provides centralized expertise, knowledge, and resources to drive insights-led, strategic planning across the agency
  • Support Associate Director in overall communication strategies
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the Planner, developing and maintaining a healthy working relationship; committed to ensuring a healthy, effective environment

Insights and Consult

  • Be a strategic partner on assigned client accounts, usually as the multicultural lead, with the support from the Associate Director
  • Consult with key agency leadership on how to optimize Total Market efforts for clients across all phases (insights, strategic development, tactical and measurement) to ensure Multicultural segments are appropriately represented
  • Act as the advocate for the consumer and an information resource for marketing that goes beyond facts to deliver implications
  • Guide the team in translating client goals into actionable steps and ensure strategic consistency across all elements of plan development and implementation
  • Deliver ongoing information and POVs to the agency around new, notable research and trending topics
  • Contribute trend, news and competitive topics to client insights newsletters
  • Demonstrates the ability to think strategically, creatively and holistically about client programs – fearless in presenting a point of view in brainstorms
  • Provide consumer insights and cultural trends to create and implement Total Market brand strategy, communications platform and creative execution
  • Assess media and advertising partners to ensure strategy alignment and ability to deliver on client priorities while enhancing data targeting and measurement capabilities


  • Responsible for the development of strategic multicultural marketing and advertising concepts to meet a variety of client marketing needs for uniquely multicultural initiatives
  • Liaison with internal teams
  • Support Associate Director in overall communication strategies
  • Manage and set day-to-day campaign process
  • Accountable for plan development and execution from inception to completion
  • Co-create strategic framework with Associate Director and lead tactical planning
  • Ensure media plan delivers on client objectives and media framework
  • Develop measurement plan – work with analytic partners to guide evaluation criteria and optimization plans
  • Manage all budget activity, client documents and client billing process
  • Seek out and provide POVs for new media opportunities
  • In-depth knowledge of media tools with ability to identify role in planning & account management
  • Strong demonstration of media fundamentals and insights analysis across all channels and planning functions
  • Exhibit passion, genuine curiosity and interest for our clients’ business and the role multicultural plays in growing their business
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of multicultural media landscape and cultural nuances (Hispanic, African American, Asian, etc.)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of media resources, terminology and applications
  • Strong numerical aptitude and accuracy
  • Ability to manage a team and delegate work
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • “Self-starter”, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workloads
  • Education: College Degree
  • Experience: 4+ years in media/marketing research, communications planning, account planning, strategist or marketing research role with an emphasis on multicultural media
  • Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
